Executive Director (Temporary, 6-Month Term)

What You’ll Do

• Provide leadership and operational oversight during the six-month term.
• Lead and support staff and volunteers.
• Manage budgets, financial reporting, cash flow, and the annual audit.
• Partner with the Board on governance, planning, and policy development.
• Drive fundraising initiatives, sponsorships, and special events.
• Champion marketing, public relations, and community engagement.
• Oversee facility operations, capital projects, and stakeholder relationships, including work with the City.

What You’ll Bring

• Degree in Business Administration, Museum Studies, Arts Administration, or a related field (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
• Experience leading teams in a non-profit, arts, or community organization.
• Knowledge of budgeting, financial management, and payroll processes.
• Strong communication, relationship-building, and leadership skills.
• Experience with fundraising, donor relations, or sponsorship development.
• A genuine appreciation for visual arts and contemporary Canadian art.
• Ability to work occasional evenings, weekends, and travel as required.
• Valid driver’s licence.

Assets

• Experience securing grants and government funding.
• Familiarity with municipal, provincial, and federal funding programs and reporting requirements.
