What We’re Looking For

FISK is looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our small team in a Portland-based, freelance position for a 3-4 month maternity leave coverage period. We’re looking for someone who is highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented, with strong communication skills and experience managing creative projects and productions from start to finish.

This person will serve as a key point of contact between our clients and internal creative team, helping manage timelines, deliverables, budgets, and day-to-day communications. We're looking for someone who can confidently lead projects, anticipate needs, keep teams aligned, and ensure work moves forward efficiently without compromising the creative process. This person will also support creative production needs, including coordinating vendors, freelancers, and production logistics.

At FISK, we pride ourselves on working with a diverse range of clients across branding, campaigns, digital experiences, editorial and more. If you enjoy working closely with designers, building strong client relationships, and bringing structure to ambitious creative projects, we'd love to hear from you.

This is a remote, freelance position for candidates based in the United States, with an anticipated duration of 3-4 months.

Qualifications

1. 3-5 years of experience in project management, or creative operations, ideally within a design studio or creative agency

2. Experience in creative production, including coordinating vendors, freelancers, budgets, and production timelines

3. Enthusiasm for the FISK ethos, work, and community-at-large

4. Attention to detail and caring for the projects and people we work with on a daily basis

5. Highly organized, self-motivated, and adaptable

6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and comfortable managing client relationships with confidence in a fast-paced environment

7. Experience managing multiple creative projects, timelines, and priorities simultaneously

8. Highly organized, self-motivated, and adaptable

9. Understanding and appreciation for the industry and creative work

10. Ability to anticipate challenges, problem-solve, and keep projects moving independently

11. Experience managing project budgets, scopes, and talent resource allocation

12. Comfortable collaborating with creative teams and communicating feedback clearly

13. Proficiency in Figma, Google Suite, Dropbox, Adobe InDesign (for Scopes of Work), Harvest, and Slack

Responsibilities

1. Serve as the primary day-to-day point of contact for assigned clients, managing communications, feedback, and expectations

2. Oversee multiple creative projects from kickoff through final delivery, managing timelines, budgets, deliverables, and key milestones

3. Support creative production needs, including sourcing vendors, coordinating freelancers, managing production schedules, and overseeing execution

4. Coordinate internal creative teams and external partners to ensure projects are properly resourced and moving forward efficiently

5. Prepare project briefs, meeting agendas, recaps and actionable next steps, consolidating client feedback into clear direction for internal teams

6. Lead the development of project scopes, proposals, estimates, and budgets

7. Coordinate client presentations, reviews, approvals, and final deliverable handoffs

8. Proactively identify potential roadblocks, scope changes, and project needs, communicating solutions to clients and internal teams

9. Collaborate closely with FISK's creative leadership to balance client needs, project priorities and team capacity

10. Maintain organized project documentation, files, and communications across all active projects

11. Oversee Harvest time tracking, ensuring team members log hours accurately and consistently

12. Monitor project budgets, hours and expenses, identifying potential overages and providing financial updates to studio leadership

13. Work closely with the operations team to coordinate client invoicing, vendor payments and outstanding receivables

14. Work independently, take ownership of day-to-day responsibilities, and adapt quickly to changing project needs

15. Bring a collaborative attitude, strong sense of accountability and genuine enthusiasm for creative work

16. Keep an open mind and a learning spirit with new challenges
