Short-Term/Distinguished Fellowship

These fellowships are open to all scholars and researchers, irrespective of career stage or educational credentials, who plan to work closely with the Institute’s collections on an independent research project. Applicants may be citizens of any country. Short-Term Fellowship stipends are US$3,500 per month, intended to defray the costs of travel, accommodation, and living expenses in Philadelphia.

American Trust for the British Library (ATBL) Research Fellowship
The Institute has partnered with the American Trust for the British Library (ATBL), which is offering the Beckman Center’s short-term fellows the opportunity to also apply for an ATBL research fellowship. The award comes with an additional $2,500 stipend to support similar research at the British Library in London. Opting in to be considered for an ATBL fellowship does not impact your application to the Science History Institute.
