What We’re Looking For

FISK is looking for a Creative Writer to help refresh public facing copy and language about the studio to be featured on our website and collateral. This special project will help shape and evolve the language, storytelling and overall narrative of our studio. We're looking for someone with a strong editorial perspective, a distinct writing voice and an ability to translate creative and visual ideas into thoughtful, compelling language.

This person will work closely with FISK's creative leadership to revisit how we talk about ourselves, from our studio history and ethos to the way we present our work, capabilities, and point of view. The focus will be on developing a cohesive brand narrative and tone of voice that feels authentic to FISK while bringing a fresh perspective to our website, credentials deck, and broader communications.

We're looking for someone who appreciates the intersection of design, art and culture, and can help tell the stories behind both our work and the studio itself. Beyond our immediate needs, there may be opportunities to collaborate on editorial projects, publications, books and other creative explorations.

This is a remote, freelance position on a project basis.

Qualifications

1. Enthusiasm for the FISK ethos, work and creative community

2. Experience in creative writing, editorial, brand storytelling or copywriting, ideally within the intersection of design, art and culture

3. Strong ability to develop brand narratives, messaging frameworks and distinct tones of voice

4. General understanding and appreciation for design, visual identity and creative studio culture

5. Ability to research and translate complex ideas into clear, engaging language

6. Experience writing for websites, brand presentations, publications or creative campaigns

7. Comfortable collaborating with designers and creative directors to align language with visual expression

8. Highly organized, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently

9. An adaptable writing style with the ability to balance personality, clarity and purpose

10. Proficiency in Figma, Google Suite, Dropbox, and Slack

Responsibilities

1. Work closely with FISK's creative leadership to develop and refine the studio's overarching brand narrative, ethos and tone of voice

2. Research and articulate FISK's history, evolution, creative philosophy, and unique perspective

3. Revisit how FISK introduces and positions itself across its website, credentials deck and other studio materials

4. Develop a cohesive messaging framework that guides how the studio communicates its work, capabilities and values

5. Write and refine website copy, including studio introductions, about pages, service descriptions and other key content

6. Restructure and refine the narrative flow of FISK's credentials deck, including studio positioning, capabilities and project storytelling

7. Develop compelling language around selected projects, helping communicate the ideas, process and thinking behind the work

8. Collaborate with the design team to ensure writing and visual storytelling work together cohesively

9. Interview FISK's founders and team members to uncover stories, insights and perspectives that inform the studio's narrative

10. Explore opportunities to extend FISK's storytelling into future editorial initiatives, publications, books and self-initiated projects

11. Edit and refine existing content to ensure consistency in voice, clarity, and overall messaging

12. Bring an independent creative perspective, contributing ideas that challenge and strengthen how FISK communicates its identity

13. Keep an open mind and a learning spirit with new challenges
